“It was regrettable. That was kind of an interaction with our fans out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply showed the wrong digit,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently done. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved pretty quick.”

- Panthers proprietor Tepper was fined $300,000 for tossing a beverage at fans in January 2024.
